Twelve suspects have been arrested in a police crackdown targeting criminal gangs operating in Nakuru East Sub-County.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the arrests followed a coordinated operation based on intelligence reports pointing to a network behind a series of criminal activities in the area.

Detectives first raided a one-room house in Kaloleni Estate, where 12 suspects were apprehended as they allegedly planned further criminal missions. In a subsequent operation within the same estate, four additional suspects were arrested at another hideout.

The crackdown extended to Freehold Estate, where four more suspects were cornered and taken into custody. Officers also conducted a sweep at the busy Railway Stage area, arresting eight suspects believed to be linked to the same criminal network.

Police say the operation is part of ongoing efforts to dismantle organised gangs that have been terrorising residents in Nakuru East and its environs.

All suspects remain in custody and are undergoing processing ahead of their arraignment.
