Police are investigating a murder after the body of a 19-year-old man was found on a bed with multiple injuries in Kandara, Murang’a County. Authorities reported that a large stone was resting on the man’s head when his body was discovered on Tuesday morning in Hui Village within Gakarara Sub Location.

The victim, identified as Lewis Mwaura Muiruri, was found by a relative in his uncle’s house while the uncle was working in Murang’a Town at the time. The police noted that the body displayed multiple head injuries and a substantial stone on top of it.

They are looking into whether the bed was the primary scene of the crime, and the motive for the suspected murder remains unknown. The body has been transported to General Kago Mortuary for a postmortem examination. Although no arrests have been made, detectives are actively pursuing leads in the case.

In another incident in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County, a man’s body was discovered floating in a dam after a suspected murder. A guard at the Two Rivers Dam in Islamic Village, Kapsoya Sub-Location, spotted the body while on patrol.

Officials from the Uasin Gishu Fire Department were called to the scene and assisted in retrieving the body, which had no visible injuries at the time of discovery. It has been taken to the mortuary pending an autopsy and further investigations.

In Shibale, Mumias, Kakamega County, a 39-year-old woman named Sophy Obulialia was electrocuted while hanging clothes on a line. Police reported that she was electrocuted due to a naked wire coming into contact with the clothesline.

She was rushed to St. Mary’s Hospital, where she died while receiving treatment. Her body has been moved to the hospital morgue for a postmortem examination.

Kenya Power officials have been asked to inspect cables in the area to ensure the safety of residents, as such incidents frequently occur in informal settlements. Officials have attributed the trend to illegal power connections, and there is an ongoing campaign to address this issue.
