Detectives are investigating the murder of a 26-year-old woman whose body was discovered in her house in Karatina, Nyeri County. The body of Nancy Wanjogu was found lying in a pool of blood in her rented house at Kwamuya village.

Police reported visible injuries on her body and recovered a blood-stained club at the scene. They suspect a love triangle may have led to the murder.

Her brother informed the police that he received a distress call from Nancy, indicating that her life was in danger. Upon arriving at the scene, he found her lifeless body on the floor, surrounded by blood. The body was transported to Karatina Level IV Hospital for autopsy. Police have identified a suspect and are making efforts to locate him.

In another incident, two children were killed in a fire on Sunday morning in Mathioya, Muranga County.

The fire occurred in the Kiagema sub-location of Ireki village. Police and the public managed to contain the flames in a three-roomed house, but tragically, the two children, who were asleep at the time, perished. Property of unknown value was destroyed, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Meanwhile, police in Machakos are investigating the suicide of a 13-year-old boy. The body of the grade six pupil from Kathekaikai Primary School was found hanging from a sisal rope inside his parents’ house. It was discovered that the deceased had been suffering from epilepsy. The body was taken to Machakos Funeral Home for an autopsy.

There has been a rise in suicide cases, prompting calls for measures to address the trend.

The son struck him on the neck with a wooden club and also injured his younger brother. Both victims were taken to Eldama Ravine Sub-County Hospital, where Losike succumbed to his injuries. Police arrived at the scene and rescued the son from a mob attack, taking him to the hospital.
