4 Counties to be hit by blackout on Thursday

A power outage scheduled for Thursday, June 27, 2024, is set to impact four Counties across Kenya, according to the latest announcement from Kenya Power.

The blackout, which is planned for maintenance purposes, will affect several areas at different times of the day.

The outage, while temporary, is expected to impact various sectors and activities in the affected Counties.

Kenya Power said that the Thursday power interruption will affect Nairobi, Samburu, Nyeri and Kiambu Counties.

Nairobi

Area: Part of Lucky Summer, Dandora

Time: 9:00 am. – 5:00 pm

Places affected: Part of Lucky Summer, Tiba Pri, Ngunyumu Pri, Ngomongo, Dandora Dumpsite, Dandora Ph 2, 3 & 4, Co-op Bank, Uprising & adjacent customers.

Area: Part of Jogoo Road

Time: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

Places affected: Parts of Jogoo Rd, Buruburu Phase 5, Muguna’s S/Mkt, Naivas S/Mkt, Uhuru Mkt & adjacent customers.

Area: Part of Ngara, part of Parklands

Time: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

Places affected: Mushembi Rd, Part of Ngara Rd, Museum HQtrs, Westlands Rd, UoN Parklands Law Campus, Chemelil Rd, Part of Kipande Rd & adjacent customers.

Samburu

Area: Posta, Suguta, Churo

Time: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

Places affected: Posta, Mugie Ranch, Churo, Tangulbei, Suguta Marmar, Kisima, Maralal Town, Maralal Water Supply, Poro Radar Stn, Loosuk & adjacent customers.

Nyeri

Area: Chaka Ranch, Milimani Chaka

Time: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

Places affected: Chaka Brookside, Roben Aberdare, Kirinyaga Construction, Ceprene Industries, Milimani Clasher, Chaka Ranch, Nyewasco Gatei Plant, Mathina, Kwa Gideon & adjacent customers.

Kiambu

Area: Nyacaba, Maraba

Time: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

Places affected: Kangoki, Buffalo Est, Kabati, Kwa Magu, Magic Stone Quarry, Budhia Quarry, Nyacaba Police, St. George Sch, Muthara, Kimuchu & adjacent customers.

Area: Kamakis, Gatong’ora

Time: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

Places affected: Gwa Kairu Riverside, Thome, St. Linda, Gatong’ora, Sunrise, Part of Bypass, Kamakis, Part of Kihunguro, Miti Kenda, Karuguru, Whole of Mashinani, Kiratina, By Pass Corner, Green Valley, Silicon Valley, Tiverton, Kiratina, Parts of Varsity Ville, Naivas, Quickmart, Mutonya Dispensary, Kwa China, Sewage, Kwihota, Gituamba Water Project & adjacent customers.

Area: Raini, Loreto

Time: 8:30 am – 5:00 pm
