The body of a 40-year-old man who is reported to have died by suicide was found dangling in the house of a woman he had inherited in Bondo sub-county, Siaya County.
The deceased, identified as Michael Odongo, was found inside Benta Akoth’s house whom he had inherited after her husband passed on a couple of years ago.
According to Siaya County Police Commander Cleti Kimaiyo, the matter was reported by Uyawi sub-location Assistant Chief Joshua Owuor who alerted the police.
He stated that officers from Bondo police station visited the scene and found the body of Odongo while still hanging with a rope tightly tied around his neck.
Kimaiyo stated that the motive behind the suspected suicide is yet to be established since no information was left behind.
Odongo’s body has been moved to Bondo sub-county hospital mortuary awaiting autopsy as further investigations continue.
