Kenyans living in the Western, Central, and Coastal regions should prepare for rainy weather and chilly conditions over the coming days.

According to the latest five-day weather forecast issued by the Kenya Meteorological Department, light to moderate rainfall is expected in several counties between October 4, 2026, and October 8, 2026.

While some northern parts of the country will stay warm, most regions will see shifting weather patterns.

Thunderstorms and cold nights in Western and Central Kenya

The Lake Victoria Basin, Western Kenya, and parts of the Rift Valley will experience warm mornings followed by afternoon showers accompanied by thunder and lightning.

Counties such as Kisii, Nyamira, Kakamega, Kericho, and Trans Nzoia are marked for afternoon thunderstorms starting Monday, October 5, 2026. Outdoor workers and residents in these areas ought to plan their afternoon activities around these expected wet spells.
