EPL: 5 fixtures we could see shock results on 2025/2026 final day

The 2025/2026 Premier League season will be wrapped up this Sunday, with all 10 fixtures to be played simultaneously.

Arsenal have already been crowned champions, after Manchester City’s 1-1 draw at Bournemouth on Tuesday night.

The top five places are all but confirmed, but Bournemouth could make a late dash for Champions League spots.

So, which five matches are we likely to see upsets on the final day?

1. Crystal Palace vs Arsenal: The result at the Vitality Stadium meant that Arsenal were champions without kicking a ball. All week, the players and staff have been celebrating their first title in 22 years. Mikel Arteta is expected to make several changes and that could see them lose their first game as champions at Selhurst Park.

2. Brighton vs Man Utd: There are reports claiming that Manchester United could be without Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro for their trip to Brighton. If that is the case, the Red Devils’ midfield will be heavily depleted. And that could play into the hands of the Seagulls, who have been in fine form recently.

3. Liverpool vs Brentford: Mohamed Salah will be bidding his farewell to Anfield on Sunday, bringing an end to a successful spell with the Reds. But he might not bow out with a win, as Liverpool have been struggling in their recent matches and Brentford arrive, looking to confirm European football.

4. Man City vs Aston Villa: Unai Emery’s men will arrive at the Etihad as Europa League winners, while Manchester City are still reeling from handing the title to Arsenal on a platter. It will be Pep Guardiola’s last match in charge and don’t bet against Villa acting as party poopers, especially as they don’t have anything to play for.

5. Sunderland vs Chelsea: The Stadium of Light has been a sort of fortress this season, with Sunderland hardly losing. And that record could continue on the final day, as they host a Chelsea team that is blowing hot and cold. The Blues need a miracle to creep into European places and it might not happen for them.
