Acting on credible intelligence, Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives from Soy raided a house in the Sungura area, where it was established that the premises were being used as an operational base for the gang’s illicit activities.
Police recovered 5 Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) jungle jackets, 1 heavy wedge hammer, 1 crowbar, 2 mobile phones and other assorted items believed to have been used in robberies.
Police say investigations are ongoing and they are pursuing the gang’s fleeing accomplices to unravel the full extent of the syndicate’s operations.
The four suspects were fatally shot on Monday during a shootout with police at Greenfield Junction along Eldoret – Kiplombe road after they opened fire on officers.
