Media personality Kwambox has shared her concerns about the country’s political direction ahead of the 2027 General Election, urging Kenyans to support more women leaders instead of allowing divisive politics to shape the nation’s future.

In a series of posts shared on her Instagram Stories on Sunday, July 12, 2026, Kwambox expressed fears that the political climate could become increasingly tense if leaders continue to prioritise personal interests over the needs of ordinary citizens.

Her remarks come as political conversations continue to gain momentum, with various leaders and parties already laying the groundwork for the next election.

Expresses concern over political climate

Kwambox said she is worried about the direction political competition is taking, noting that power struggles among politicians could create unnecessary divisions across the country.

She also referenced the 2007 post-election crisis, saying the current political atmosphere reminded her of that period and urging Kenyans to remain vigilant.

“I fear 2027 will be a tumultuous year for Kenyans. Why are these greedy men ready to tear the country apart because of their own power struggles? This reeks of the 2007 script.” she wrote.

Her message encouraged citizens to reflect on the kind of leadership they want as the country heads towards another election cycle.

Calls for greater support for women leaders

Beyond expressing concern, Kwambox challenged Kenyans to consider electing more women into leadership positions, saying the country needs leaders who are driven by service rather than political rivalries.

According to her, meaningful leadership should focus on solving problems affecting citizens instead of advancing party interests.

She argued that women should not only be visible during political campaigns but should also be given opportunities to hold decision-making positions.

“But Kenyan women can save the day. How? By not participating in this, elevating leaders who aren’t weighed down by party politics. Just a heart to serve, really. Kenyan politics needs women leaders, not women flower girls. The time is now.” she emphasised.

Her message also reignited discussion around the importance of peaceful elections, responsible political engagement and issue-based campaigns as Kenya prepares for the 2027 polls.

While the country is a year away from the General Election, public conversations surrounding leadership and governance continue to grow.

For Kwambox, the message was clear: Kenya’s future depends not only on those seeking office, but also on the choices voters make and the kind of leaders they choose to support.
