Former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party has extended an olive branch to the Linda Mwananchi team, inviting the outfit to join hands after being turned down by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

Speaking at Fr Ntaiya estate in Narok during the retirement ceremony of Lucy, a teacher at Siyampei Primary School, Jubilee Party Secretary General Moitalel ole Kenta said there was need for the two sides to work together for the betterment of Kenya.

Kenta said Jubilee’s doors remain open for the team, noting that the party loves all Kenyans and will never discriminate against anyone.

He affirmed the party’s commitment to a prosperous country, saying the Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna-led team should feel free to join forces with Jubilee.

The former Narok North MP also drummed up support for former Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang’i’s presidential bid, terming him the best bet for the country. He described Matiang’i as a performer, incorruptible and a unifying leader.

Kenta, who will be making a second stab at the Narok governorship, received backing from a section of leaders and teachers present, who described him as a reachable leader and vowed to vote for him come 2027.

Lucy Kashu, a former Chief Officer in Narok, said the much-touted Singapore success story was built on a corruption-free foundation, adding that Kenta was the leader to realise a similar prosperity dream given his upright character.

She said the current Narok County leadership had failed and that residents were yet to see the benefits of devolution.
