Music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has been placed in solitary confinement after an altercation with another inmate at the Federal Correctional Institution in Fort Dix, New Jersey, where he is serving his prison sentence.

According to multiple reports citing sources familiar with the matter, the incident happened after another inmate allegedly made a remark to Combs, leading to a physical confrontation.

The reported fight resulted in the rapper being moved to solitary confinement.

Fight followed inmate’s remark

One source told ABC News that the altercation began after another inmate directed a comment at Combs, which then escalated into a fight. Neither Combs nor prison officials have publicly commented on the reported incident.

E! News said it had contacted representatives for Combs and the Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institution for comment but had not received a response.

Meanwhile, a representative for the low-security prison declined to discuss the matter.

“We are not at liberty to disclose or provide internal information pertaining to any inmate in our custody. Such information would not be available for the public domain,” the spokesperson said in a statement to TMZ.

Release date has changed several times

The reported incident comes more than a month after Combs’ expected release date was adjusted for the fourth time.

According to records from the Federal Bureau of Prisons viewed by E! News, the rapper was initially expected to be released on May 8, 2028. His projected release date has since been moved to February 23, 2028.

Combs was transferred to Fort Dix in late October from New York’s Metropolitan Detention Center.

The move followed his seven-week sex trafficking trial in 2025, where a jury found him guilty on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He was acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering charges.

Adjusting to life behind bars

Since beginning his sentence, Combs’ daily life has been very different from the luxury lifestyle he previously enjoyed.

On his 56th birthday in November, his prison meals reportedly included bran flakes or toast for breakfast, a chickpea burger or chicken parmesan for lunch, and cheese pizza, according to the prison food menu obtained by People.

Family continues to support him

Despite serving his sentence, Combs has continued to receive support from his family.
