Radio personality and DJ Xclusive has shared his thoughts on Pritty Vishy’s new journey as a DJ, urging the content creator to take time to learn the craft and master the basics before expecting bigger opportunities.
Speaking during his live show on Monday, July 28, 2026, DJ Xclusive said he had watched clips of Pritty’s performances and believed she still had a lot to learn if she wanted to build a successful career behind the decks.
‘Start by learning the basics’
DJ Xclusive explained that DJing is a profession that requires discipline, technical knowledge and patience. According to him, some of the habits he noticed in Pritty’s videos suggested that she was still at the beginning of her learning journey.
“This is directed to Pritty Vishy because I see she has decided to go into the DJ career. First of all, you have to learn the basics of DJing because, from the videos, I could see you were DJing without headphones, and from there I can tell if someone isn’t serious,” DJ Xclusive said.

He also noted that a DJ’s presentation matters, adding that the job demands commitment throughout a performance.
“Secondly, DJing is a job that requires standing up. If I see you DJing while sitting down on a couch, it means you aren’t taking it seriously. You also need to know the music you’re playing and understand it,” he added.
Technical skills matter
The radio presenter went on to explain why understanding DJ equipment is equally important.
According to him, while technical problems can happen, a professional DJ should know how to handle most situations without bringing the performance to a halt.
“If you go to an event, the machine cannot only have technical issues when you are playing. If things were working before you got on stage, then the next DJ comes in, and everything works again, it means you’ve rushed the process, and there is a problem somewhere,” DJ Xclusive said.

Despite his scolding, he welcomed Pritty into the profession and encouraged her not to give up.
“You need to understand that DJing is a serious profession. It’s not just about standing and playing music. Pritty Vishy, if you have decided to join this path, you are welcome, but you need to put in a lot of work. Just be patient with the journey,” he said.
Pritty remains determined
DJ Xclusive’s remarks come days after Pritty Vishy shared an emotional account of her first debut DJ performance, revealing that technical problems affected a show she had spent weeks preparing for.

The content creator admitted she initially felt like she had failed, but later said her team assured her the equipment issues were beyond her control. Although the experience left her emotional, Pritty has maintained that she is determined to keep learning and still hopes to become one of Kenya’s leading female DJs despite the criticism surrounding her new career.
