The legislator was forced to take refuge at the offices from Sunday evening after appearing on Inooro TV’s Kiririmbi show, when he said that hooded men were waiting for him outside the offices to whisk him away.
“After my Kiririmbi Show this evening a contingent of Police have surrounded Royal Media Studios and erected road blocks with intentions of arresting me! I will NOT BE INTIMIDATED whatsoever,” he wrote on social media.
The contingent also camped outside the offices waiting for the legislator.
Speaking to Citizen TV on Monday morning, he said he is being probed over what he termed as twisted remarks he made during a public rally in Kieni, Nyeri County on Saturday.
He accused government digital strategist Dennis Itumbi, alongside other legislators from the Mt Kenya region, of spreading the skewed narrative that has led to his arrest.
“I saw a lot of hype yesterday by the government about my political utterances that I did on Saturday in one of the political rallies, which I saw were being pushed as being inflammatory. That is an issue that falls under the purview of NCIC,” he said.
“I have not received any summons all I have received is social media posts from Itumbi and some of the other government-leaning MPs which were also twisted to fit a certain narrative. I have no problem presenting myself to NCIC.”
During the rally, Kaguchia warned Mt Kenya residents of dire consequences if they vote for President William Ruto in the 2027 General Election.
Speaking in his Kikuyu dialect, said that those who will vote for President Ruto will be tracked to their homes and smoked out.
Regional DCI commander Daniel Kandie, who was part of the contingent of officers who arrived to arrest him, said he will be taken to the regional DCI offices at Milimani for further grilling.
However, subsequent reports indicated that he was transferred to DCI main headquarters along Kiambu Road.
