Grade 5 pupil dies after electrocution in Kakamega

A cloud of grief has engulfed Ekarungu Village in Mumias East, Kakamega County, after a Grade Five pupil died after being electrocuted at his home.

The boy, identified as Moses Atsulu of Khaimba Primary School, reportedly came into contact with a live electric wire that had become entangled with a clothesline.

The incident has been confirmed by Isongo Sub-location Assistant Chief Joseph Lumbasi, who urged parents to closely supervise their children during the school holidays to prevent similar tragedies.

The body was moved to St. Mary’s Mission Hospital Mortuary in Mumias, where it awaits a post-mortem examination.
