The much-anticipated meeting took place at Westlands Primary School in Nairobi, where Teacher Cillah teaches Grade Three.
George arrived at the institution accompanied by the Pace Setter Magazine team, members of the Mood matatu crew, and the famous matatu itself, drawing excitement among learners and staff.
The visit marked the first confirmed face-to-face meeting between the two after a series of viral social media exchanges that began when Teacher Cillah openly expressed interest in George following Charlene Ruto’s traditional wedding (Koito).
For weeks, Cillah’s cheeky videos and posts about the first son dominated conversations online, with many Kenyans closely following what started as a light-hearted social media pursuit.
George later joined the banter, helping fuel public interest in the unfolding saga.
On her Tiktok, Cillah posted a playful video announcing her intention to “shoot her shot” at George, declaring she wanted to marry him and join the first family.
George’s response was sharp and witty: he asked for her TSC registration number, instantly turning the whole exchange into a viral moment.
Rather than backing down, Cillah kept the content coming, posting videos about her imagined wedding and even pulling her father into one clip, with him jokingly approving of George as a future son-in-law.
However, during the school visit, George publicly addressed the matter and sought to put the speculation to rest.
Speaking before staff and learners, George said he had come to set the record straight regarding the rumors surrounding the two.
“I came to first of all set the record straight. I have a wife, but I think that it was good while it lasted. It showed how the world has become a global village,” he said.
The remarks were widely interpreted as confirmation that he is already in a relationship, effectively ending speculation that his interactions with Teacher Cillah could develop into a romance.
George did not disclose the identity of the partner he referred to during the visit.
Beyond the relationship speculation, the visit focused largely on the learners and school community.
The President’s son began by meeting school administrators and signing the visitors’ book, then moved to classrooms where he interacted with pupils and teachers.
In Teacher Cillah’s class, he participated in a multiplication lesson and spent time engaging learners, who welcomed him enthusiastically.
The pupils also presented him with drawings inspired by the Mood matatu, which had been driven to the school compound as part of the visit.
The afternoon took on a festive atmosphere, with learners, teachers and guests filling the school grounds for a programme packed with dance performances, DJ music and a talent showcase.
Ruto-owned City ‘nganyas’, from Mood and Moneyfest, added to the energy, with their stunts and performances drawing loud reactions from the pupils.
George also took the opportunity to step away from the entertainment and walk through the classrooms, pausing at individual desks to speak with pupils and observe their learning environment at close range.
Photos and videos shared online showed learners crowding around the matatu as George toured different sections of the school. He later planted a tree on the school grounds before concluding the visit.
The meeting between George and Teacher Cillah also attracted attention after the pair shared a hug and handshake, a moment that quickly became one of the most circulated clips on social media.
However, George’s public declaration regarding his relationship status overshadowed the brief interaction.
During his visit, George said he intended to support the school with educational and learning resources.
The pledge echoed previous comments he had made after learning more about Teacher Cillah’s work with children at the institution.
George Ruto had earlier indicated he was considering support in the form of learning materials and sports equipment for learners.
Teacher Cillah later expressed gratitude for the visit, saying the children were thrilled by the experience.
“I have no words that can describe how I feel. Today was such a good day at work. Children went home happy, and that makes me happy too,” she wrote after the visit.
George commended her work as a teacher, said he was honored to be part of her journey, and encouraged her to keep impacting young learners.
