Anne Kansiime is clearly not hiding how she feels about Uganda’s latest nightlife development, and the internet is here for it.
The beloved Ugandan comedienne took to her Instagram Stories to share a hilariously self-aware reaction after General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, Uganda’s Chief of Defence Forces, declared that bars and clubs should be free to determine their own operating hours.

“Now am going to end up loving this one too,” she wrote, adding a facepalm emoji before following it up with “Why is my love weak and cheap,” punctuated by a string of crying emojis.
The reaction, raw, funny, and very on-brand for Kansiime, quickly caught attention online.
The general’s comments came in direct response to a directive from Local Government Minister Balaam Barugahara, who had ordered bars and alcohol-serving establishments to remain shut until 3 pm on weekdays in a bid to curb early-morning drinking.
Muhoozi pushed back publicly, stating that decisions on opening and closing times should rest with business owners rather than the government.
He made clear that what authorities should concern themselves with is the prevention of violence and fighting, not people enjoying a night out.
“Opening and closing hours for bars and clubs is up to the proprietors. What we will not tolerate is any form of fighting and violence. Otherwise, Ugandans are entitled to enjoy themselves,” Muhoozi wrote.
His remarks effectively overrode the minister’s directive, with Minister Balaam himself acknowledging the development with a simple “Order taken.”
For Kansiime, the announcement was apparently a little too exciting to keep to herself. Her cheeky two-liner managed to capture exactly what a lot of Ugandans were feeling, only she said it with more personality.
