Crazy Kennar has sent Kenyan social media into a frenzy after dropping a co-parenting skit so well-produced that fans are still talking about the helicopter scene a day later.
The comedic video, posted on Instagram on Monday, September 14, opens with a judge laying out the custody terms for a divorced couple, splitting the child’s time across the week.
Did Kennar hire chopper?
From there, the skit unfolds across multiple settings, from an office to a humble bedroom to an open field, capturing the absurd tug-of-war between two parents competing for their child’s love and loyalty.
Kennar plays the cash-strapped parent who genuinely tries. In one scene, he sits down with the boy to work through a maths problem, only for Nikita Kering to walk in and flash a bag of Apple devices, courtesy of “the new daddy.”
When Kennar tries to stand his ground, Nikita’s new man steps into the frame and Kennar quickly backs down, a moment that had viewers in stitches.
The scene that clearly captured the most attention, though, came during the child’s birthday celebration. Kennar walks across an open field, birthday cake in hand, singing away, before the roar of a helicopter drowns everything out.
The downdraft from the chopper sends both Kennar and the cake crashing to the ground. Nikita steps out, scoops up the boy, and disappears into the sky.
The sheer boldness of renting an actual helicopter for a comedic skit is what sent fans over the edge. Within 24 hours, the video had gathered more than 240,000 likes on Instagram.
Reactions poured in from across the Kenyan entertainment space:
