A short video posted on September 14, 2026 has set Kenyan social media alight after a man widely identified as Lenny, the matatu driver associated with George Ruto, was filmed alongside a white Mercedes-Benz GLE 350D carrying the personalised plate “Wanjiku 2.”
The clip, shared by Nairobi Times on X, was filmed outdoors on a grassy roadside in a casual, handheld style.
Whoever is behind the camera walks around the vehicle, capturing it from the front, rear, side, and even getting close-up shots of the headlights, before the footage cuts to an indoor part showcasing Lenny.
The tone throughout is excited and slightly comedic, very much in the spirit of a viral exposé clip.
The Car that sparked all the questions
The “Wanjiku 2” plates had already been circulating online for some time before this video dropped, with many Kenyans curious about who actually owns the posh SUV.
The appearance of Lenny near the vehicle only deepened the mystery rather than solving it, as it remains unclear whether he is the registered owner or was simply driving the car on the day.
The video’s narrator, speaking in Sheng throughout, is audibly stunned, repeatedly saying “kumbe”, a Swahili expression of disbelief as he films the GLE from every angle.
Lenny could be seen signalling him to keep quiet after pointing out that he was the owner of the posh ride.
