A clip from a recent episode of Jeff Koinange Live (JKL) has gone viral after a behind-the-scenes blunder was accidentally broadcast to viewers watching at home.
During an interview with Ndindi Nyoro, the MP for Kiharu Constituency, Koinange can be heard receiving a question from a producer or editor feeding him lines through his earpiece, with the audio leaking clearly onto the broadcast microphone.
The moment, captured in a video shared on X, has since picked up significant traction online.

The interview was set against JKL’s familiar blue cityscape backdrop and a sign-language interpreter visible in the corner of the screen. Koinange and Nyoro were engaged in what appeared to be a pointed exchange about the MP’s political trajectory, particularly his relationship with President William Ruto.
At one moment, Koinange pivoted abruptly to ask Nyoro about James Orengo’s presidential ambitions. Nyoro pushed back, telling the host:
“We are jumping questions, Jeff.”
Koinange insisted the question was fair, but the exchange drew attention to what appeared to be a disconnect between the natural flow of conversation and the direction the host was being guided from off-screen.
The leaked audio from the earpiece, briefly audible to viewers, is what sent the clip racing across social media timelines.
Where does Nyoro lie?
Despite the distraction, Nyoro was animated throughout the interview. He addressed questions about his fallout with Ruto, whom he had publicly supported, telling Koinange:
“Let me give you a small brief because I don’t want us to also go to issues.”
He also spoke confidently about his own political standing, saying he was returning “with a bigger battalion, with a force, with Kenyans across the board, across demographics,” and insisted that what he was bringing to the table carried real value.
The programme’s format, which mixes live studio interviews with rolling news tickers and audience captions, is a staple of Kenyan television, and the JKL brand has long been associated with high-profile political guests.
However, moments like this one serve as a reminder that even polished productions are not immune to technical slip-ups.
