Magix Enga’s baby mama, Ruth Otieno, has stirred up conversation online after posting a TikTok video that appears to be a direct response to his wife Joy’s controversial parenting invitation.
The drama began when Joy went live on social media and extended what she framed as a generous offer, telling viewers:
“Bring my husband’s children so we can raise them. There is plenty of money, we will raise and care for them.”
Ruth was clearly unmoved. In the now-viral TikTok, she filmed herself in a selfie-style livestream against a blue backdrop, speaking animatedly and gesturing throughout the clip. Her tone was sharp and unapologetic.
What was Ruth Otieno’s response?
Addressing the offer head-on, Ruth made her position crystal clear:
“Mama wa kambo hatukuji.”
The remark, which translates loosely to “we are not coming to a stepmother,” was the line that set social media ablaze.
She also spoke about the history she shares with the producer, recalling the period when she stood by him during his well-documented struggles.
“I was taking evidence. People had plans for him all because of me,” she said, suggesting she played a significant role in protecting his reputation during a difficult chapter in his life.
Ruth and Magix Enga had previously appeared together in interviews alongside their son, and she was a visible presence during his most turbulent public moments.
In the video, she stopped short of launching a full-blown attack, citing respect as her reason for restraint.
“I try and avoid your kisses because of the respect I have for you. But sir, you have a voice,” she said, directing the words at the father of her child.
Ruth’s new business
Between her pointed remarks, Ruth also used the platform to promote her tailoring business, , which she mentioned is based in Palais and Same Plaza.
She told viewers she has made suits for notable clients and is currently offering fashion and design tuition.
“I am a fashion designer and if you want elegant suits, visit my shop,” she said, adding that she was not currently in Kenya at the time of filming.
The mix of personal candour and business promotion gave the video an unfiltered energy that resonated widely, with Kenyans quickly picking sides in the ongoing saga between the two women.
