Former radio presenter Jeridah Andayi had fans smiling on Thursday, September 3, after she shared a video of her daughter Norah’s birthday surprise, and the girl’s barely contained emotions stole the show.
The clip, filmed in what appears to be a casual home setting, shows Jeridah handing Norah an iPhone 15 Pro Max as a birthday gift.
The twist? Norah had apparently been hoping for an iPhone 17.

In the skit-style video, Jeridah explained that the bigger phone had already been ordered but was returned after Norah expressed a preference for the newer model.
“This one will do the same thing as the iPhone 17,” Jeridah quips in the video, trying to soften the moment.
Norah noted the phone is even in her favourite colour, black.
“You got me a phone. You got me a phone. Thanks, thanks Mum,” Norah says, visibly moved before announcing she plans to use it to film her back-to-school vlog the very next day.
Beyond the laughs, Jeridah used the moment to share something more personal. In her caption, she wrote that Norah is already building her own YouTube channel, creating content, and exploring opportunities at a young age.
“The way she lit up reminded me that sometimes it’s not about getting our kids everything they ask for — it’s about supporting what they love and helping them get started,” Jeridah wrote.
She added that she was proud of her daughter not because of the phone, but because Norah is learning to create, appreciate what she has, and make something out of it.
She also cheekily apologised for the lack of gift wrapping, saying it was simply her being a mum.
The video spread quickly online, with followers charmed by Norah’s genuine reaction and Jeridah’s touching explanation behind the decision.
