Politics and the dance floor collided on Friday, September 4, when an AI-choreographed video of Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga, ODM leader Oburu Odinga and Suna East MP Junet Mohamed dancing to the viral Kenyan street anthem Kitemeo set social media ablaze.
The clip, shot inside a modern open-plan office complete with computer monitors and glass partitions, shows the three ODM heavyweights taking turns performing synchronised moves in two groups, with the caption reading:
“When politics meets the dance floor!”

Wanga showed up in a bold patterned African-print outfit, while Oburu donned a bright orange ensemble that mirrored ODM’s party colours.
Junet rounded off the trio in a dark outfit topped with an ODM cap, matching Wanga’s own headwear choice.
The coordinated looks added a deliberate party identity to what was clearly a carefully staged performance. Kitemeo by Kapitani is a viral sensation that blends Sheng, Swahili and street slang, capturing everyday Nairobi life, including the daily hustle, city hardships and the raw energy of Korogocho.
Released in July, the track shot up YouTube’s trending charts almost immediately after dropping, making it the go-to soundtrack for viral content across the country.
What pushed the video over the edge was an unlikely endorsement.
First Son George Ruto hit the like button on the post, a small gesture that did not go unnoticed and quickly became a talking point in its own right, drawing even more attention to the clip.
