Boni Khalwale Elated as Daughter Flavia Graduates with Economics Degree from UoN

Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has celebrated his daughter, Flavia Shimuli Khalwale, after she graduated from the University of Nairobi (UoN) on Friday, September 18.

Flavia graduated from the university’s School of Economics with a Bachelor of Economics and Statistics, attaining Second Class Upper Division honours.

The proud father took to social media to congratulate his daughter while highlighting the growing list of UoN alumni in his family.

“Congratulating and celebrating my daughter, Flavia Shimuli Khalwale, for graduating today from the University of Nairobi School of Economics with a 2nd Class Upper Division Bachelor of Economics and Statistics. We are very proud of the UoN,” Khalwale said.

He noted that Flavia had become the fifth member of his family to graduate from or study at the institution.

Who are Khalwale’s UoN alumni?

According to Khalwale, the family list includes himself, his children and other relatives who have pursued different professional careers.

The senator listed himself as a doctor of Medicine, noting that he studied at the University of Nairobi between 1981 and 1987. Parliament’s official profile confirms that Khalwale earned a Doctor of Medicine qualification from UoN.

He also listed Tigana Kachuma Khalwale, an auditor at the Office of the Auditor-General; Inger Imbuhila Khalwale, an actuarial scientist at the Kenya Revenue Authority; Linda Lichuma Khalwale, a civil engineer at the Kenya National Highways Authority; and Flavia Shimuli Khalwale, an economist.

Khalwale concluded his congratulatory message by thanking God for the family’s achievements.

“We profoundly thank God through whom everything is possible,” he said.
