Two men have been stabbed to death in separate incidents in Gichugu, Kirinyaga County, leaving residents concerned over rising insecurity.
Thirty-eight-year-old scrap metal dealer Derrick Muchira was stabbed at Kiang’ombe Shopping Centre and died on arrival at Kerugoya Referral Hospital. Police are investigating the incident and pursuing a suspect identified as his friend.
In a separate incident at Gathoge, 32-year-old casual labourer Evan Muriithi was found with serious stab wounds after allegedly being attacked near the Mwea-Embu highway.
He died while seeking help at a nearby homestead.
The two bodies are at Kerugoya Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem as police investigate the killings and appeal to residents to help identify and apprehend the suspects.
