A young Kenyan man, Jerry Kipkorir, broke down in tears of joy after wellwishers stepped in to help him enrol at Moi University College of Health Sciences, where he will study for a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN).
Jerry had scored a B+ in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education examinations, a grade strong enough to earn him a place at university, but financial barriers reportedly stood between him and his dream of pursuing higher education.
It was the generosity of Delights Mercy Missions, the charitable arm of Delights Funeral Directors, that turned Jerry’s situation around.
What course was Jerry going to pursue?
The organisation, which describes its work as “transforming lives through Education,” facilitated his enrolment and shared the news on Facebook on Saturday, September 5, 2026.
The post confirmed that Jerry was now a registered student at Moi University College of Health Sciences, one of Kenya’s respected institutions for medical and health training.
The Bachelor of Science in Nursing is a four-year degree programme that prepares graduates for careers across hospitals, community health settings and beyond.
