A Nigerian pharmacist working in Canada has shared a look at her biweekly earnings, encouraging internationally trained pharmacists to remain committed to the country’s licensing process.
The pharmacist, known as @lizzyintentional on TikTok, directed her message at professionals working towards certification through the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada (PEBC).
Pharmacist reveals her earnings
In the video, she held up one of her biweekly paycheques, showing that she takes home approximately C$5,830.80 (about KSh 557,000) every two weeks. She added that the amount is not a maximum and could increase.
She explained that the amount is not fixed and could rise depending on the hours and shifts she works at the pharmacy.
“That amount is not fixed. It can go more than this if I want from my pharmacy,” she said.
The pharmacist also acknowledged the challenges faced by those trained outside Canada, including the cost of examinations, setbacks and the uncertainty that can accompany the licensing journey.
She reminded her fellow pharmacists that their years of training and professional knowledge remain valuable, even while they work towards recognition in a new country.
She plans to build beyond her salary
The pharmacist said her earnings were not her final goal. Instead, she views her profession as a way to generate money that can be channelled into investments, businesses and assets that produce additional income.
“My profession creates income, my income buys assets and my assets help me build freedom,” she explained.
Her message focused on long-term financial growth rather than the paycheck alone. She encouraged internationally trained pharmacists to see their professional knowledge as a foundation for creating broader opportunities.
