Arsenal scored two second-half goals to beat a stubborn Sunderland 2-0 in the Premier League on Saturday night.

The Gunners travelled to the Stadium of Light with three wins out of three.

But Mikel Arteta’s side knew that a win against the Black Cats would take them above Manchester City on the table.

City are away to Manchester United in the Derby on Sunday evening.

The first half ended goalless, as Arsenal struggled to convert their domination to goals.

However, Bruno Guimaraes came off the bench to give the champions the lead with a vicious strike. The goal came after David Raya produced a stunning penalty save to deny Enzo Le Fe.

Bukayo Saka wrapped up the points from the penalty spot after he was fouled inside the area.

Arsenal now have 12 points, three more than City, who could draw level with victory at Old Trafford.
