A past prayer by Kenyan reverend Lucy Natasha for Zimbabwean businessman Wicknell Chivayo and his wife, Lucy Muteke, has resurfaced online following the couple’s death in a helicopter crash.
Natasha shared the prayer on July 26, 2026, asking God to protect Chivayo, his wife and their family while also blessing their businesses, investments and legacy.
The prayer has since attracted renewed attention following Chivayo’s death in a helicopter crash in Zimbabwe on Wednesday, September 30, 2026.
Zimbabwean authorities confirmed that a helicopter carrying six people crashed in the Marondera rural area, east of Harare, with no survivors. Chivayo’s family later confirmed that the businessman and his wife, Lucy Muteke, were among those killed.
Natasha’s prayer for Chivayo
In her July 26 post, Natasha asked people to join her in praying for the couple, describing their generosity and impact on other people’s lives.
“Let us stand in the gap of Wicknell Chivayo together with his dear wife, Lucy Chivayo, as they have blessed countless lives; may God remember them and reward them beyond measures,” Natasha prayed.
Natasha then prayed for divine protection over the couple and their family.

“We declare divine protection over you and your wife no evil shall prevail against your family. May God establish your legacy, and may your generation walk in favour and greatness,” she said.
She also prayed for wisdom over Chivayo’s business interests and investments.
“May divine wisdom preserve your business and investment.”
The Kenyan reverend further prayed for peace and unity within the family.
“I declare your home will overflow with peace, unity, joy and God’s presence. The Lord will fight for you and give you victory,” she prayed.
‘Covenant of long life’
One of the parts of Natasha’s prayer that has drawn attention following Chivayo’s death was her declaration of long life over the businessman and his wife.
“The covenant of long life is your heritage, may God fulfil the desires of your heart, as you have become an answered prayer to so many, may God also answer your prayers, may all your givings be a memorial before God,” she prayed.
Natasha also reflected on the couple’s philanthropy and the people she said had benefited from their generosity.
“Your lives have impacted so many. May God continue to strengthen, bless, and increase you and your dear wife. Your legacy will touch generations.”
She described the Chivayo family as a source of hope to many people through their charitable work.

“This remarkable family has become a beacon of hope to countless people through their generosity, compassion, and selfless giving. Their philanthropy has restored dignity, lifted families, empowered communities, and brought smiles to many hearts. They have truly chosen to be a blessing to this generation.”
Natasha concluded the prayer by asking God to continue blessing the couple and preserve their legacy.
“May the Lord preserve them, increase them beyond measure, surround them with divine favour and protection, and reward them abundantly for every life they have touched. May their influence continue to impact nations, and may generations yet unborn remember the good they have done.”
Chivayo dies alongside wife
Chivayo, 43, and Muteke died after the helicopter they were travelling in crashed in Marondera Rural on Wednesday evening.
The aircraft had six people on board, including two pilots. Authorities said there were no survivors, while investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
Chivayo was widely known for his business interests, lavish lifestyle and high-profile philanthropy, frequently making large donations to individuals, religious figures, entertainers and sporting organisations.
His death came on the same day he made what would become his final public social media post, in which he announced gifts to two lawyers who had supported him over the years.
Following his death, Natasha’s July prayer has resurfaced, with social media users reflecting on her earlier words about Chivayo, his wife, their family and the legacy they would leave behind.
