Senator Edwin Sifuna has a new career path, at least in the world of artificial intelligence.
An AI-generated video posted on Instagram on Wednesday, September 30, reimagined the outspoken senator as a full-blown rap artiste, and Kenyans simply could not get enough of it.
Watch Sifuna’s AI video as rapper
The clip shows an outdoor concert setting filmed from behind two performers as they stride confidently across a large stage at sunset, a massive crowd stretching out before them and a tall tower looming in the background.
The atmosphere is electric and triumphant, as if the two were headlining the biggest show of the year.
In the AI video, Sifuna is kitted out in a blue college jacket with matching sneakers, his jeans sagged low and a chain around his neck.
He grips a microphone as he walks toward the roaring crowd. Walking right beside him is fellow opposition politician Babu, dressed in an all-black outfit with a red jacket and red sneakers.
A rap track plays in the background as the two stroll to the stage with their pockets stuffed with cash. Completing the unexpected scene is Martha Karua, who stands to the side, phone raised, recording the whole moment.
The video was clearly crafted for laughs, playing on Sifuna’s known flair for dramatic statements and his reputation as one of Kenya’s most colourful political voices.
The comments section quickly became a comedy stage of its own, with fans falling over themselves to give Sifuna his rap alias.

“Lil Sifu.”
@5ive_touch had a more elaborate suggestion:
“Lil Sif LMG(Linda Mwananchi Gang).”
@matwanaculture had a different wish entirely:
“Let him come like that to the inauguration.”
@ashaqueen001 admitted:
“I almost thought it was true.”
@bolobespoke could not help but notice a familiar face in the clip:
“Who has not seen Martha Karua?”
