A Kenyan woman got far more than she bargained for after posting a video to help her older brother find a wife, waking up to hundreds of direct messages that eventually surpassed the 1,000 mark across her social media pages.
Agatha Nkirote filmed the video alongside her brother, appealing to Christian women who were ready for marriage to get in touch.
In the clip, she made clear that her brother, who is in his late 30s, had delayed settling down long enough.
“I have this man over here; he is my brother, and because he has refused to marry, I will sell him off, the body might look weak but the spirit is very strong when he speaks in tongues, and the bible says he who finds a wife finds a good thing,” she said.
Agatha’s Playful Case for Her Brother
Beyond the spiritual pitch, Agatha added a dose of humour, saying she was tired of cooking chapatis and mandazis for her brother when a wife could take over those duties.
She also assured viewers that nationality was not a barrier, and that her family was fully prepared to pay a substantial bride price, provided the wedding happened before the year was out.
“I can assure you he is a good and loyal man, I know I am also single but this one needs to marry by force by fire,” she added.
Agatha had approached the whole thing as a casual, lighthearted post and expected it to pass quietly. The reality that greeted her the following morning was anything but quiet.
She woke up to more than 500 direct messages, and as the days went by, the number climbed past 1,000 across her various platforms. Her brother’s own inbox told a similar story.
“I did not expect this outcome, we were serious when posting the video and he also got more than 1,000 DMs and we are still going through all of them. All this while I thought my brother’s ribs were used to make soup but now I know better,” she shared.
The siblings are reportedly still sifting through the messages as interest continues to pour in.
