Kenyan musician Bahati has found a uniquely extravagant way to mark ten years with his wife Diana Marua, announcing a black-tie anniversary celebration where guests must pay KSh 1 million per ticket just to get through the door.

The couple broke the news through a cinematic video shoot set at a scenic lakeside dock surrounded by lush greenery. Dressed up and speaking directly to camera, the two delivered scripted dialogue that built up to the big reveal, complete with bold on-screen captions and a polished title card reading “The Invite,” followed by a formal black-and-gold invitation graphic.

Bahati and Diana’s decade together

Bahati and Diana Marua are one of Kenya’s most high-profile celebrity couples, having built a significant following through their music careers, YouTube content and candid portrayal of their family life.

Their relationship has played out very publicly, making their ten-year milestone a moment many fans have been anticipating.

In the video, Bahati acknowledged the wait, telling Diana:

“After 10 years together, I hope I have not taken so long.” She responded warmly, assuring him that timing was never the issue: “Baby, time doesn’t matter as long as we do it the right way. And time doesn’t matter as long as you commit you forever to me.”

KSh 1 million per seat for 100 guests

Rather than exchange ten separate anniversary gifts as he had done in previous years, Bahati said he opted to make the milestone official in a far grander fashion. He explained that instead of ten gifts for ten years, the occasion called for something far more memorable.

The event is set for 6th November and will be capped at just 100 attendees. Prospective guests are required to purchase an invite at KSh 1 million per seat, a figure that has turned the announcement into one of the most talked-about celebrity moments in Kenya recently.

“On this special day, we will only have 100 people in attendance. And anyone that would like to attend must pay one million Kenya shillings to get the invite,” Bahati said in the clip.

The steep entry fee has certainly sparked conversation, with many questioning whether the price tag reflects an exclusive fundraiser, a grand celebration, or simply a statement of their brand as a couple.

Bahati closed the video with a call to action, urging people to “call now and purchase the invite” before Diana gave a satisfied smile and declared, “I’m good baby.”
