Chebet Ronoh and fitness enthusiast Bentermarion have also shared their challenging walk from Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD) to Limuru, documenting preparations, scenic moments and exhaustion along the way.
In an Instagram video shared on Monday, October 12, Ronoh described the walk as a major personal challenge. The journey was initially described as approximately 70 kilometres, although she later said she had covered 78 kilometres.
Preparing for the challenge
As they moved out of the city, she celebrated the fresh air and scenery. “The air is so fresh, out of town. Look at this scenery. So good,” she said. She also shared her excitement at going beyond her previous limits.
“I’m so excited. I’ve never done more than 20 kilometers in my life. So this is a pleasure,” she said, later announcing they had reached a camp zone.
Pushing through the distance
As the walk continued, Ronoh began feeling the strain but remained determined to finish and drink tea in Limuru.

“Bro, we are 52 kilometers in. We have 20 kilometers to go,” she said. “I must finish. I must drink tea in Limuru.”
The challenge eventually wore her down. “Things are bad. Things are bad,” she said, later summing up her state: “78 kilometers. I have more than I’ve ever done in my life, so I’m very happy with that. Otherwise, I’m bad. I need to go home, bro.”
Bentermarion celebrates her effort
Ronoh reflected on the challenge in her Instagram caption, writing, “I have never done anything so courageous and brave like this wow.”
Bentermarion, who said her previous longest walk was 21 kilometres, praised Ronoh for pushing further.

“For someone who’s only done 21km as her highest, girl you’re my why of getting to town. Seeing you push yourself to 58km was the IT for me. Thank youuu,” she wrote.
Their updates have highlighted the demands of long-distance walking and the determination it takes to push beyond a personal best, with companionship proving valuable throughout.
