A Nairobi mama fua who turned to content creation barely five weeks ago has been left overwhelmed with gratitude after a stranger delivered a brand new gas cooker to her home.

Njeri, who works as a laundry woman and is raising two children on her own, shared the moment on TikTok in a selfie-style unboxing video filmed inside her modest home. She could barely find the words to express how she felt.

Njeri gets a delivery from a stranger

“I just got a delivery. Someone on Instagram decided to bless me with this cooker. And oh my God, I am so happy. I feel blessed. I feel seen. I don’t even have the right words,” she said, visibly emotional as she unpacked the appliance.

The gift came from a follower she identified as Micah Priyansis, someone Njeri had connected with through Instagram since taking a chance on content creation just one month and one week before the video was filmed.

What struck her most was the speed at which the support had come.

Njeri receives encouraging messages from followers

She had barely settled into her new role as a creator when the generosity began pouring in, from prayers and encouraging messages to, now, a tangible gift that would make a real difference in her daily life.

“I want you all to know that I don’t take it for granted. The support, the prayers, the love, I’m forever grateful,” she said.

For Njeri, the cooker is far more than a kitchen appliance.

Njeri’s prayer to stranger

As a mama fua who sometimes rushes home from work to prepare a quick meal, or wakes before dawn to cook food her children can carry to school, a reliable cooker is a daily necessity.

“This cooker will come in handy, especially when I am delayed at work. And also in the morning, cause sometimes I prepare food for my kids to carry to school, I am forced to wake up early,” she explained as she demonstrated the cooker.

She closed her message with a heartfelt prayer for her benefactor: “May God bless you. May you never lack, be blessed abundantly.”
