Karangu Muraya could barely hold back his tears during a candid appearance on Oga Obinna’s show, where he spoke publicly about one of the most painful chapters of his life.

On Monday, October 12, Karangu recounted how he buried two of his brothers, Paul Kareithi Muraya and Joshua Kagema Muraya, within just four months of each other this year.

What did Karangu Muraya say about deaths of his brothers?

Paul, his eldest brother, had been working as a long-distance truck driver when he suffered a devastating accident that damaged his spine.

After a difficult period, Paul passed away in April. Karangu described him as someone he truly loved and said the family managed to give him a decent send-off.

“My firstborn brother. I really loved him. We went for the burial. By God’s grace we buried him,” he said, composing himself as best he could.

Then August arrived, and grief knocked again.

Joshua Kagema, who lived in Karangu’s home and shared meals with him daily, fell ill and also died.

The loss left Karangu so broken that he could not even speak at the burial. When Obinna asked him why he stayed silent, the answer was both painful and revealing.

“A narrative was brought that I am the one behind their deaths, for money, so I can get rich,” Karangu said, wiping tears from his face.

He explained that even a simple photo he took while admiring a car during a routine visit to the car wash was weaponised against him online. Followers accused him of having been paid for sacrificing his brothers.

“When I posted they said I had been paid after sacrificing my brother,” he added.

The accusations clearly weighed heavily on him. Despite everything, he pushed back against the popular belief that doing good protects you from hardship, calling it “nonsense.”
