James Mwangi, a Kenyan man based in the United Kingdom and a member of the Kenyan community in Coventry, died on Tuesday, October 6, after he was discovered unresponsive in his room in Derby.

Mwangi, who originally came from Nakuru, was reportedly found after those close to him grew concerned by his prolonged silence.

Mwangi’s Death Under Investigation

Police are said to have entered the property following those concerns and found him unresponsive. He was subsequently pronounced dead.

Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding his demise, but no cause of death has yet been established.

The family says further updates will be shared as more information becomes available. Mwangi is survived by his wife, Susan, to whom he was described as a beloved husband.

In the wake of the loss, the family has reached out to the Kenyan community in Coventry and across the UK, asking that Susan and those mourning alongside her be kept in their thoughts and prayers during what they describe as an extremely difficult time.
