A murder suspect allegedly showed no remorse inside a Nairobi courtroom, choosing instead to mock the family of the woman he is accused of killing.
Nelson Ambia, charged with the alleged murder of his girlfriend Feruz Hussein, drew widespread attention after footage from inside the courtroom began circulating online. The clip, shared by Uzalendo News, shows Ambia seated in the dock wearing a T-shirt emblazoned with the words “Bad Boys.”
Rather than sitting quietly before the court, Ambia reportedly stuck his tongue out and pulled faces at Feruz’s family members, who were present in the room. He also reportedly posed for the camera, seemingly unbothered by the gravity of the charges against him.
The Alleged Crime That Shocked Nairobi
The case against Ambia is rooted in deeply disturbing allegations. He is accused of killing Feruz Hussein and then reportedly recording her lifeless body before sending the footage directly to her family.
The act, if proven, would represent a level of cruelty that goes well beyond the alleged killing itself, compounding the family’s trauma in the most callous way imaginable.
Details of when and where the incident took place have not been fully confirmed, but the case has drawn significant public outrage in Kenya, with many following court proceedings closely.
Courtroom Behaviour Stirs Anger
It is the footage from inside the courtroom, however, that has captured the attention of many Kenyans online. Ambia’s apparent disregard for the occasion, as well as for the family sitting metres away from him, has struck observers as both shocking and deeply insensitive.
The “Bad Boys” T-shirt, whether deliberately chosen or not, added another layer of controversy to an already disturbing case. His gestures towards the victim’s family, including tongue-wagging and what witnesses described as mocking expressions, were visible to those present and eventually to thousands online after the video spread across social media.
The case continues to be heard before a Nairobi court. Feruz Hussein’s family, who have already endured the horror of receiving a video of her allegedly at the hands of the accused, now face the additional burden of watching him perform for the camera from the dock.
