Social media personality Gloria Ntazola has opened up about growing up without privilege, reflecting on the challenges she faced while trying to build a better life for herself.
In a series of posts shared on her Instagram page on Friday, October 23, 2026, Gloria looked back at her younger self and expressed gratitude for how far she has come.
The influencer said she did not grow up in a family with a powerful surname or connections that could easily open doors, describing her journey as one that required her to work towards her dreams on her own. “I look at little me and I want to hug myself so bad,” she wrote.
Gloria explained that her upbringing taught her to appreciate things that others might take for granted, including having enough food and clothes. “I grew up from a place where food and clothes were a luxury to afford. Now I have food and clothes, which makes me very grateful,” she added.
Her reflections offered a glimpse into the personal experiences behind her determination to improve her circumstances and achieve her goals.

Gloria speaks about navigating life at 19
The social media personality also recalled the difficulties of trying to establish herself at a young age, saying she had to navigate life without the support and advantages that can make the journey easier for others.
She pointed to the challenges of being a 19-year-old woman trying to put her life together independently, describing the experience as both risky and difficult. “You know how risky and tough is for a 19 yr old girl walking alone and fixing her life together on her own up to what I am right now,” she wrote.
Gloria’s message highlighted the pressure of trying to build a future while dealing with uncertainty and the expectations that come with pursuing success. She also addressed people who criticise her or speak negatively about her name, insisting that their opinions would not make her abandon her ambitions.

“Please, when you talk rubbish and diminish my name, keep in mind I will never quit. I’m so hungry for success and peace and not a single word from a miserable spiteful person can stop me,” she stated.
Ntazola says she is not seeking approval
Beyond discussing her upbringing, Gloria said she was not interested in being regarded as the best or being chosen over other women. Instead, she wants to concentrate on her personal growth and make decisions that are right for her, rather than live to meet other people’s expectations.
“You know something about me: I never want to be in your best books. I never want to be chosen or pointed out as the best girl. Pick everyone else as the best,” she wrote.

She added that her priority was to get her life in order and focus on what works for her, rather than compete for approval. The posts reflected her determination to protect her peace while continuing to work towards the future she wants.
Looking ahead with hope
Despite the difficulties she described, Gloria ended her reflections on an optimistic note, expressing confidence that better days lie ahead. “You know something… I’ll turn out great, I’ll go out and good things will happen to me,” she wrote.
Her message centred on gratitude for the progress she has made, the lessons from her upbringing and her resolve to keep moving forward despite criticism.
Looking back at her younger self, Gloria framed her journey as a reminder that personal circumstances can shape one’s outlook on life, success, and the importance of finding peace along the way.
