US-based Kenyan content creator Bernice Saroni has encouraged Kenyans hoping to relocate to the United States to apply for the Diversity Visa (DV) Lottery, promising to personally welcome a successful applicant at an American airport.
In a Facebook post shared on Saturday, October 24, 2026, Saroni said she hoped someone from a rural Kenyan home would enter the programme for the first time, win and travel to the US the following year.
The content creator said she would be ready to pick the successful applicant up at the airport, suggesting that she would share the moment with her followers on social media.
“Imagine Kuna mtu ushago ata Apply USA DV Lottery for the FIRST TIME! This year, na Ashinde na Next year atakuwa anapanda ndege anakam USA Nimpick airport Hivyo tu!” she wrote, expressing excitement at the possibility of helping a first-time applicant celebrate such a milestone.
Saroni also urged Kenyans not to dismiss the opportunity, suggesting that one of her followers could be the person who eventually wins the chance to pursue permanent residency in the US.
“Si Mtamuona huku nikimpost tu! Labda ni wewe. Dont ignore Please Apply,” she added.

The creator said she would share the application link once the registration period opened and guide her followers through the process.
“Once it’s open, I’ll post the link and guide you guys,” she wrote, adding the hashtag #productofgrace to her post.
What to know about the 2027 US Green Card Lottery
The Diversity Visa Lottery, commonly known as the US Green Card Lottery, is a programme run by the US Department of State that offers eligible applicants from countries with historically low levels of immigration to the United States an opportunity to apply for permanent residency. Applicants must also meet education or qualifying work-experience requirements.
The DV-2027 registration period had been delayed amid changes to the programme. A US federal court subsequently ordered the State Department to announce registration details by October 29, 2026, and open the entry period by November 1, 2026, with the registration window expected to remain open for 30 days. These are court-ordered deadlines, and applicants should check the official government announcement for the final dates and instructions.
The upcoming cycle is also expected to introduce changes, including a $1 electronic registration fee and a valid passport requirement under the announced rules. Applicants should verify the final requirements before submitting an entry.
Entries must be submitted through the official Electronic Diversity Visa website during the designated registration period. The US government warns applicants to avoid fraudulent websites and people claiming they can guarantee selection or improve their chances. Being selected in the lottery does not automatically guarantee a visa; applicants must still meet the programme’s requirements and complete the immigration process.
