Nairobi – Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested two men in connection with a fatal stabbing and a separate attack that left another man hospitalised, both occurring on the same morning in the Lindi area of Kibra, Nairobi County.
The DCI confirmed the arrests in a statement released on Thursday, October 29, 2026, following an intelligence-led operation in the Kingstone area of Lindi.
Fatal attack on Jacob Odhiambo Alube
The first incident unfolded on the morning of October 23, 2026, when 49-year-old Jacob Odhiambo Alube was set upon by assailants who demanded his valuables, including his mobile phone.
When he resisted, the attackers stabbed him in the chest and left thigh before fleeing the scene. Police officers who arrived found his body lying in a pool of blood, with bloodstains spread several metres from the spot, indicating a violent struggle had taken place.
Crime Scene Investigation personnel processed the area, and the body was moved to Nairobi Funeral Home to await a post-mortem examination.
Second victim stabbed multiple times
In a separate but related incident the same morning, 58-year-old Juma Jared was attacked by two assailants who stabbed him multiple times, inflicting wounds on his upper left arm, the left side of his chest, and his lower left back.
Bystanders rushed him to Mbagathi Hospital, from where he was referred to Kenyatta National Hospital for further treatment.
The DCI said he is in fair and stable condition. Unlike the first victim, Jared was not robbed during the attack.
Suspects arrested in Kingstone area
Following the two incidents, DCI detectives opened investigations and conducted a targeted operation in the Kingstone area of Lindi, Kibra. The operation led to the arrest of two suspects identified as Abdizar Suleiman and Stephen Litari Hussein. Both are in custody and undergoing processing ahead of their arraignment.
