Social media personality Obidan Dela has narrated how former Nairobi County Chief Officer Geoffrey Mosiria suddenly fell ill, revealing that he started experiencing dizziness shortly after having a meal.

In a video shared on his Instagram page on Thursday, October 29, 2026, Obidan said the day had started normally, with the two having an opportunity to talk before Mosiria went to eat.

However, things took an unexpected turn when Mosiria began feeling dizzy, prompting concern among those around him. “Siku ilianza vizuri hadi tukaongea, alienda tu akakula then akaanza akasikia kizunguzungu,” Obidan narrated.

He later accompanied Mosiria to hospital, where the former county official was admitted as doctors assessed his condition.

Mosiria admitted to hospital’s HDU

Giving an update from the hospital, Obidan revealed that Mosiria had been admitted to the High Dependency Unit (HDU), where medical staff were working to stabilise him.

“Na ndipo tulipata tuko hapa kwenye HDU, ameadmitiwa hapa na the doctors are working to stabilise his condition. At least he’s stable now,” he said.

Obidan added that doctors were monitoring Mosiria’s heart and that they were waiting for a medical report to provide more information about his condition. Although he confirmed that Mosiria was stable at the time of recording the video, he did not disclose the specific illness behind his sudden hospitalisation.

He appealed to Kenyans to keep Mosiria in their prayers, saying the former county official needed time away from his usual activities to focus on his recovery. “I know he will be out for some time, even on social media in any activity. Ndio apone na akuwe strong,” Obidan said.

He explained that Mosiria would need to take a break so that he could regain his strength before returning to public engagements.

Obidan asks Kenyans to give Mosiria space

Obidan also urged Kenyans, particularly those who usually reach out to Mosiria with complaints and requests for assistance, to give him some time to recover.

He acknowledged that Mosiria had built a reputation for engaging with residents and responding to issues affecting them, but said his health needed to come first. “So we ask Kenyans wale ambao mko na shida, tafadhali sahii tusisumbue governor wetu, at least pia a take a break kidogo. Anaweza kufocus na health yake,” he appealed.

Obidan further observed that Mosiria would find it difficult to continue helping people if he was not physically well.“Akikuanga weak pia itakuwa ngumu kutembea na Wakenya wataumia,” he added.

He repeated his appeal for Kenyans across the country to continue praying for Mosiria as he receives medical attention.

Obidan says planned event is still on

Mosiria’s hospitalisation comes days after Obidan announced plans to organise a thanksgiving event in his honour following his removal from the Nairobi County Government.

The event is intended to appreciate Mosiria’s work and his engagement with Nairobi residents during his time in office.

Obidan had invited Kenyans to suggest possible venues, including Uhuru Gardens, Carnival, Kasarani Stadium, Uhuru Park and Jeevanjee Gardens, as well as their preferred dates for the celebration.

Despite Mosiria’s sudden illness, Obidan maintained that the planned event was still on. He also mentioned Mosiria’s ambition to become Nairobi governor, saying the former county official needed to recover and regain his strength as the country approaches another election season.

For now, Obidan has asked Kenyans to put aside their demands and give Mosiria time to concentrate on his health, with further updates expected as doctors continue monitoring his condition.
