Influencer Ema Kalekye Responds to Rumours She’s Dating King Kaka

Kenyan lifestyle and fashion creator Ema Kalekye has firmly shut down online chatter linking her romantically to rapper King Kaka, saying a social media repost was twisted into something it was never meant to be.

In a statement she shared on Wednesday, 4 November 2026, later reposted by Nairobi Gossip Club, Ema pushed back against the narrative.

“Just to clear the air, I think this is being blown out of proportion. It was simply a song repost, nothing more. Please stop creating stories and attaching meanings where none exist. Not every social media interaction needs a narrative. Let’s be respectful,” she wrote.

The post, featuring a split photo of Ema in a white shirt and floral skirt alongside King Kaka dressed in a red pinstripe suit and white hat, had pulled in over 2,491 likes and 74 comments by the time of publication.

How the speculation kicked off

Things snowballed after King Kaka, real name Kennedy Ombima, shared a reel on his official Facebook page on Sunday, 2 November. The clip showed Ema dressed in a sharp corporate ensemble consisting of a light blue shirt, navy tie, high-waisted trousers and a matching long trench coat.

The video was set to one of his own tracks, a song that repeatedly references the name “Ema Kalekye” and contains lyrics about offering “princess treatment” and giving her the world.

Fans were quick to read the post as a soft-launch rather than a routine fashion or music share. The chatter grew louder after the two traded playful comments beneath the reel.

King Kaka referred to Ema as “Morio wa mine,” loosely meaning “my person,” to which she responded:

“Unanipa nini morio?” (What are you giving me, my guy?).

He replied:

“Umeanza kusahau” (You have started forgetting), and Ema rounded off the exchange with “Wa mie” (Mine).

Why King Kaka’s fans were already watching closely

The backdrop to all of this matters. King Kaka publicly ended his 13-year relationship with media personality Nana Owiti in December 2024, with the former couple stating they would continue co-parenting their children.

Since then, he has been relatively open about his romantic life. In June 2026, speaking to Willy M Tuva on Radio Citizen, he said women had been flooding his inbox, and he was “almost getting” a replacement.

More recently, in a conversation with Karen Nyamu, he admitted someone had caught his eye.

“I told myself that I’d wait for two years. There’s someone who is confusing me out here. I find myself telling her ‘I miss you,'” he said.

That context made the reel feel, to many followers, like confirmation of what they had suspected.

Nana Owiti gives her verdict

On Thursday, 5 November, Nana Owiti addressed the rumours during a phone call with Milele FM presenter Ankali Ray.

She was measured in her response, saying she harbours no ill feelings about King Kaka potentially moving on.

“Life lazima imove on. Very, kama hiyo ni ukweli si iko sawa, kila mtu lazima asonge hatuwezi shinda mahali pamoja, hivyo ndio maisha iko,” she said, translating to: life must move forward, and if it is true, it is fine.

For now, neither party has confirmed a relationship, and Ema is clear there is nothing to confirm.
