Charlene Ruto is officially off the market.
The president’s daughter tied the knot with Isaya Yunge on Friday, November 6, at a lavish ceremony in Mwanza that brought together Kenya’s political elite and the first family.
President William Ruto and First Lady Rachel Ruto were both present for the milestone occasion, joined by Charlene’s siblings and a host of senior government officials including National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula, Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi and Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen.
A video circulating online captured what many are calling the most touching moment of the day — the instant Ruto formally handed Charlene over to her groom.
The clip shows Charlene standing between her parents before Ruto placed his hand gently on her back, guiding her towards Isaya.
It was a brief but deeply symbolic gesture that marked her transition into married life. In the footage, Ruto is dressed in a red patterned jacket paired with black trousers and a light-coloured straw hat.
Rachel stands close by in a maroon-and-white floral dress, topped with a large pink hat. Charlene herself wore a sparkling white lace gown with an exceptionally long train that swept across the highly reflective floor.
The nuptials were held beneath a large open-air pavilion with a transparent roof framed by white fabric drapes, with palm trees and greenery visible through the sides.
Bright daylight flooded the venue as white rose arrangements lined both sides of the aisle. Guests filled the seats on either side of the aisle, many holding up their phones to capture the ceremony as applause broke out during the handover moment.
