Footage from Charlene Ruto and Isaya Yunge’s wedding reception in Mwanza has gone viral, and it is not hard to see why.
The video, which surfaced from their Friday, November 6 celebration, shows the newlyweds actively working on a strikingly large wedding cake together, in a moment that felt grand.
Charlene and Isaya’s show-stopping cake
The cake itself was hard to miss. Arranged in a wide, multi-sectioned circular format, it stretched across a long white-draped table set beneath elaborate floral arches decorated with pink and red blooms.
The cake featured smooth white frosting, classic piped borders and swags along the sides, and a top layer densely covered with deep blueberries that created a bold blue-purple contrast against the white icing.
Gold letter toppers finished off the display, adding a touch of luxury to an already impressive centrepiece.
In the footage, Yunge, dressed in a black tuxedo, leans over the cake to carefully place and arrange the blueberries across its surface while Charlene, radiant in a white lace wedding dress, stands close by assisting him.
Other frames from the video show the couple cutting and serving slices together, with Charlene holding a plate of portions and Yunge standing alongside her as they share the moment with their guests.
