Kenyans applying for the police clearance certificates formally known as Certificates of Good Conduct will no longer be required to book a fingerprinting date.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Tuesday announced that going forward, applicants of will just need to show up for fingerprinting at a date convenient to their schedules.
Prior to the changes, job seekers and other Kenyans who were applying for the certificate were required to log in to their Ecitizen account, fill the forms and book a fingerprinting date and time.
“Kindly note that you are no longer required to book a fingerprinting date while applying for the Police Clearance Certificate (formally Good Conduct). This section has been removed from the portal. Applicants are encouraged to visit their convenient centre to be served,” office of the DCI stated.
DCI announced that applicants can access the service at Huduma Centres across the country.
Additionally, DCI has advised applicants to download and keep printed copies to avoid future inconveniences.
“Once generated, your certificate remains on your e-citizen account for a period of 6months after which it is pulled down,” DCI stated.
