Ololulunga Boys’ Secondary school in Narok South Sub County has been closed indefinitely after several students walked out of school in the night hours.

The area Deputy County Commissioner Mr. Felix Kisalu said over 1, 000 boys walked out of Ololulunga school at around 10 pm leaving a handful boys behind.

He said the cause of the cold strike is not yet known as the boys walked out silently without speaking to any stranger and did not destroy any school property.

“We sent the security team at the school to check whether there was any form of destruction but confirmed that the boys walked out peacefully,” he said.

Attempts to return them back to school were not fruitful but they managed to bar the last group of about 300 boys from walking outside the gate.

Those left behind, he said, will help in the investigations as they will reveal the depth of protest and help in resolving the problem. “The board of management will be meeting to discuss the issue so as to find a solution to the issue before recalling the boys back to school,” he said.

The school, he said, has been posting negative deviation results despite being an extra County School with well-built infrastructure and enough resources.

Kisalu recalled three years ago when the school held multiple strikes that caused the performance to drop from being one of the best schools in the county.
