Cosmetic plastic surgery is done to change your appearance. For some, it may mean redesigning the body’s contour and shape, smoothing wrinkles, or eliminating balding areas.

Others may choose varicose vein treatment or breast augmentation.

The goal of cosmetic surgery is to improve a person’s appearance, self-esteem, and self-confidence.

Many celebrities have embraced it just to enhance their looks and overcome some of their insecurities.

Kenyan celebrities like Kate Actress, Willis Raburu, Vera Sidika, Official Kinuthia, and Jackie Matubia have felt free and opened up to their fans regarding the type of surgery they underwent.

Here is a list of cosmetic surgeries that most Kenyan celebrities have done to enhance their beauty;

1. Gastric Baloon

A gastric balloon, also known as an intragastric balloon or a stomach balloon, is an inflatable medical device that is temporarily placed into the stomach to help reduce weight.

It is designed to help provide weight loss when diet and exercise have failed and surgery is not wanted or not recommended for the patient.

Gastric balloon controls and restricts food intake and celebrities like Kinuthia, Kate Actress, and Jackie Matubia, Big Ted have opened up about how the process works and how it worked for them.

2. Liposuction

Liposuction is a type of fat-removal procedure used in plastic surgery. Evidence does not support an effect on weight beyond a couple of months and does not appear to affect obesity-related problems.

In the United States, liposuction is the most common cosmetic surgery.

Kenyan celebrities like Murugi Munyi and Risper faith admitted to having done it.

Murugi Munyi underwent Liposuction to remove some excess fat around her tummy area which had accumulated over the years due to childbirth

She said that it was something she had considered for a while but only went through it after her husband and her mum gave her the go-ahead.

Risper Faith, on the other hand, had the surgery and admitted that she was comfortable with her tummy which was hanging after the birth of her son, and also revealed that it cost her more than 400k sponsored by her husband.

3. Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation surgery is done to increase breast size.

It involves placing breast implants under the breast tissue or chest muscles. For some women, breast augmentation is a way to feel more confident.

Vera shed more light on her breast augmentation surgery during an interview with Jalang’o and explained that she went for the boobs implants in her quest to make her body proportional because she used to be thick with a flat chest.

4. Cosmetics dentistry

Cosmetics dentistry is a branch of dentistry that focuses on improving the appearance of your smile.

Common cosmetic dental treatments include teeth whitening, dental bonding, and veneers.

Huddah Monroe disclosed that a male admirer financed dental surgery and she was able to spend Sh920,000 on her new teeth, helping her overcome the haters.
