Woman arrested with fake KRA stamps in Nairobi’s Eastleigh area

Police have arrested a woman found in possession of a consignment of fake Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) stamps at a warehouse in Eastleigh, Nairobi.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the suspect; Alice Agnes Nyathira Mburu was nabbed by detectives from the Economic and Commercial Crimes Unit.

“The counterfeit stamps believed to have been imported into the country on March 7, 2023, were retrieved from a warehouse in Eastleigh, near Pumwani in Nairobi city,” said the DCI.

The consignment of fake stamps included 6 rolls each with 24,000 KRA counterfeit stamps.

The suspect was detained at Muthaiga Police Station pending arraignment.
