Comedian Eric Omondi has made a sharp turn into social advocacy in recent days and today rescued a lady named Joyce Naserian, who alleged that she was arrested and jailed for shouting in Nairobi Central Business District.

“We have released Joyce Naserian from Langata Women Prison. She was to spend 3 months in Prison for a petty offence with a fine of only Ksh 10,000 she can now go back to her Children. We also Released Nicole. @bernicesaroni thank you for coming through and offering her a job. God bless. We also Release Naomi today,” the comedian posted.

According to the lady, she was sentenced to three months in prison because she could not pay a bail of ten thousand shillings after being arrested for allegedly shouting in town

“I came to Lang’ata Women’s Prison on February 9, 2023, and I will be released on April 9. I was working in town at Old Nation House, next to the fire station, and when I shouted to call a customer, city council officers came and arrested me and took me to Central police station,” she said in an interview with Inooro TV.

The comedian took to his social media on Saturday and shared a video of the lady describing what led to her arrest and imprisonment and then appealed to anybody with information about Joyce Naserian to reach out to him.

“We will be visiting Langata Prison to help this Sister out. So far a lot of people have come out to offer her help…Thank you @bernicesaroni for offering her a job. Let’s try to get her out first,”  The comedian shared.

Hours earlier, during an interview with local interviewers, Naserian thanked Eric Omondi for everything and continued by asking Kenyans to offer her a job since she is also a single mother.

Eric assured her that everything will be better. “Many brands are willing to work with you since you are now  a celebrity, Nitahakikisha uwe na pesa mingi that  being a good sign that umetoka kwa depression, unemployment and poverty.”

He went ahead to tell Kenyans that he will ensure that Kenyan prisons are decongested making sure that no one is arrested for petty crimes adding that he is going to start a program for decongesting petty offenders.
