The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party has continued to welcome more members, with the latest signee being former Kenya African National Union (KANU) Secretary General Nick Salat.

On Wednesday, UDA Secretary General Cleophas Malala received Salat, who was in the company of others who had ditched KANU party.

The move comes after Salat’s suspension from KANU three months ago, and an expulsion thereafter.

According to the former SG, his decision to join UDA was after the party (KANU) lost its direction and unity.

“These are only a sample of the people who are ready and willing to join you. Given a chance, you will see a big number of KANU members willing to join UDA. We believe that even though this party is six months old, it has shown signs that it is heading somewhere. We need to give it a chance,” he said.

Former KANU treasurer Brenda Majune, who was part of the delegation said she left KANU voluntarily because she believes in the vision of President William Ruto.

“We are ready to work with him.”

The new signees join UDA a day after six other parties made a decision to dissolve their political outfits to join the ruling party.

Also, a section of leaders from the Nyanza region, among them former Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero, have joined the William Ruto-led party.
