Police, KRA nab assorted contraband goods in Kericho

A joint operation by the National Police Service and Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) on Wednesday, March 15 recovered various suspected counterfeit goods.

In a statement, police said the items included fake rolls of KRA stamps, 13 drums of 250 litres each containing liquid suspected to be ethanol.

“Today the 15th March 2023, NPS and KRA Officers acting on information conducted a search at a residential house situated at Sumeiyon village within Kericho East Sub-county, and recovered various suspected counterfeit goods.

“The items seized included rolls of KRA stamp; 13 drums of 250 litres each containing liquid suspected to be Ethanol; assorted stickers and bottle tops of various bottling companies,” police said.
Other goods seized

Also impounded were 199 cartons of Best Vodka; 221 cartons of Space Vodka and 218 cartons of Smart Vodka, a carton of Kane Extra, 65 cartons of Venice Vodka, and 58 cartons of Tycoon Vodka among others.

Preliminary investigations suggest that all the items were counterfeits, including KRA stamps.
